Holistic Jew Prayer Lab

“One whose prayers are fixed, their supplications are not resonant.  What is a fixed prayer?  That which does not have a novel element added to it.”
(Talmud, Brakhot 28b and 29b)

“Prayer is a kind of welcoming of the Creator’s will to be in relationship with Creation.  The more that will is welcomed, the more vivid the experience of Divine Presence is in our lives.”
(18th-century Rabbi Chayyim of Volozhin in Nefesh HaChayyim 2:2, para. 2)

Shahareet (Morning Prayer) Prayer Service with English Vernacular. We will use Kavanot (meditative focusing from Kabbalah tradition). We will chant, sing, and there will be an invitation to move.

Rabbi T’mimah Audrey Ickovits, BSE, is a visionary, scholar, and teacher.  She is the spiritual leader of Holistic Jew cultivating siddurim (prayer books)and leading ritual to provide meaningful mystical prayer weaving juicy English vernacular in with classical Hebrew.  Wisdom from Torah and Kabbalah inform Liquid Kabbalah sacred movement.  Rabbi T’mimah is in awe of the intricacies of the human body-not only as the vehicle (Merkavah) for the soul in this incarnation, but as a nuanced model of Divine structure.  The more one looks inside, the more one learns about The Creator.

Passionate about the environment and committed to equality in death, Rabbi T’mimah supports green, cost-effective, traditional end-of-life options.  An avid gardener, Rabbi T’mimah loves the partnership with nature it offers.  She looks forward to elevating communal mitzvah meals again soon with food grown in the Holistic Jew garden.

Published by Rabbi T’mimah

  • “Seven Sacred Circles” to make underlying substructure of sacred circling practices easily accessible in support of cultivating the Divine Feminine
  • “Holistic Jew Shahareet for Weekdays“ featuring a full prayer service, heart focused English translation, and classical Kabbalah meditations translated into English for the first time.

Both books are available from Lulu Press.

Holistic Jew is a shtiebel; home for ritual, prayer, learning, and laughter. We cultivate prayer, meditation, Torah study & ethically sourced Kosher meal encounters. Reverently irreverent, we foster contemporary means of expression that satisfy the intellect, nourish the heart, and speak to tradition. We welcome good-hearted people of all orientations, and we celebrate diversity with love.
